Follicle Stimulating Hormone Detection Reagent(FSH)
FSH overview
FSH, also known as follicle stimulating hormone, is secreted by the
pituitary gland. For women, its main function is to promote the
development and maturation of ovarian follicles. In cooperation
with luteinizing hormone (LH), FSH promotes the mature follicles to
secrete estrogen and ovulate, and participates in the formation of
normal menstruation. For the treatment of infertility is of great
significance, generally 5 ~ 40 mIU / ml as the normal value. Low
FSH values were found in the period of estrogen and progesterone
treatment, polycystic syndrome, Sheehan's syndrome, etc., while
high FSH values were found in premature ovarian failure, ovarian
hypoplasia, pituitary precocious puberty, primary amenorrhea, etc.
